Positions available:

CORPS MEMBER        ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATOR      CREW LEADER

Currently we are accepting applications for crew members and crew leaders for HYCC.

        This is either a full time, year round (24 to 44 weeks) corpsmember position OR a full time summer (8 weeks) corpsmember position.    Click here for more info
Work week is generally M - F, but some Saturdays are possible. 

Qualifications:

Joining HYCC is not a job--it is a serious commitment to national service. We look for applicants who are:

  • Willing to participate as an active learner

  • Committed to helping others and to completing the entire term of service

  • Wanting to participate as a positive member of a crew and willing to take direction.

  • Willingness to serve long hours and work outdoors in all weather conditions

  • 17 years or older

  • U.S. Citizens

These positions may be eligible for an Education Award (used for college tuition) of $1000 to $4,725 and a modest bi-weekly living allowance.  College credit is available!!

        This is a full time summer leadership position (approx. 12 weeks).  Just like the Corpsmember, there is a $1000 Education Award associated with this position as well as a modest living allowance.  This position will be assigned to a regular work crew, but priority will be given to providing environmental educational lessons to area youth

Qualifications:

  • Wanting to participate as a positive member of a crew and willing to take direction.

  • Willingness to serve long hours and work outdoors in all weather conditions

  • 19 years or older

  • U.S. Citizens

  • Have, or working towards, a college degree in a related field
    (i.e. Forestry, Biology, Environmental Education, etc.) - not required but preferable

  • Teaching experience would be preferable

  • Ability to work independently with little direct supervision.

        This is a full time, paid, summer leadership position (approx. 10 weeks).  There is no Education Award associated with this position.  Hourly wage ranges from ~ $9.50 DOE.  There are no benefits associated with this position. 

Qualifications:

Joining HYCC as a crew leader is a job, but it is ALSO a serious commitment to national service. We look for applicants who are:

  • Experienced in safely leading young adults ages 17 to 25 in outdoor settings

  • CPR/First aid qualified

  • Committed to helping others and to completing the entire term of service

  • Willing to serve long hours and work outdoors in all weather conditions

  • 21 years or older

  • Have a college degree in a related field
    (i.e. Forestry, Biology, Environmental Education, etc.) - not required but preferable

  • Field experience with trail building, conservation projects, hand and power tools, etc. would also be preferable
